Cesenatico
A seaside village, a delightful living room overlooking the Adriatic Sea, chosen by Leonardo to build his sea port.
In Cesenatico the historical and maritime traditions live in harmony with the reality of a modern tourist resort. The ancient sailing boats are moored side by side with the modern fishing boats that punctuate with their exits the times of the Canal Harbor designed by Leonardo.
The old Pescheria, still active, is a few steps from the Piazzetta delle Conserve where the fish was stored in the ancient and characteristic wells dug in the sandy soil.
Cesenatico, in its historical center, is an open-air living museum, the Maritime Museum, the Antiquarium, Casa Moretti, the theater and the Municipal Library, as well as historic and impressive places such as Piazza Pisacane with the monument to Garibaldi and the nearby archaeological Park with the ruins of the medieval fortress.
